The regular college admissions guide course for Grade 10 mainly includes:

I. Key elements and process of the overseas college application;
II. Comparison of education system among USA, Canada, UK, Australia, etc., and their respective advantages for overseas study;
III. Introduction to the language test and standardized test, and suggestions on making a scientific test plan;
IV. The role of activities in application, and the focus of activity plan;
V. Majors offering in overseas colleges; popular majors and employment prospects;
VI. Application essay writing skills and case sharing;
VII. Classification and admission differences of American colleges;
VIII. Differences in culture and college admission among the eastern and western part of America, and the Great Lakes region;
IX. Classification and admission differences of colleges in Canada, UK and Australia. 

 

Course-selection guide

Students are offered guidance when selecting courses, including AP, IB and featured courses, and other electives. In doing so, we take a full consideration of student’s academic competence, college admissions planning, interests and talents, major preference, school curriculum, etc.

I. Organize Holland career & personality test, and character strengths test for students;

II. Analyze the career test result, and introduce suitable occupations and employment prospects.

 

Communications & Planning

                                                 I. Communicate with students, parents and teachers regularly for a better understanding of students and an individualized college admissions planning, including the aspects of study, standardized test, activity, application, major and career development, etc.;  

II. Provide one-to-one guide in application essay;

III. Update the admissions planning accordingly based on the progress of students in study and activity.

Personal file establishment, management and update

Establish a personal file, and analyze student’s materials, including academics and application materials, etc.  

 

Overseas-study Application Guide

 

Guide for summer school application

Students in need of applying for summer school are given guidance according to their standardized test score, career orientation and application goal. The guidance is reflected on college selection, completion of the application form, application essays, enrollment steps, visa application, etc.  

 

Guide for college application

I. Instruct students in college selection, according to students’ actual condition and academic potential;

II. Guide to search information of targeted application colleges;

III. Guide to fill in application forms;

IV. Submit transcripts and reference letters for students via Naviance/E-mail/express delivery

V. Instruct students in sending scores of TOEFL, standardized test, AP, etc.

VI. Guide to submit other application materials;

VII. Guide to write application essays;
VIII. Coach students in interview preparation and simulated practice

IX. Help determine the final enrolling college

X. Guide to complete enrollment steps, including I-20 and housing application, etc.

Psychological Consultation

 

Non-clinical psychological counseling and guidance is ready for the students who ask for it or are discovered suffering psychological problems.
