Less is More
The AP charity project is always on the move. This summer vacation, Bella Zhou, who graduated from AP 1301, is organizing a voluntary program—Selling Your Trouble.
Are you often annoyed by your messy room? Are you tortured by the items from impulse buying in your house?Maybe you don’t need that much in your life and can be happier when you do a little “subtraction”.
Right here, your subtraction will be the most beneficial reap and right here, things that you will no longer use will be reused again. Right here, in our Selling Your Trouble program.
Our program will provide you with a solution to set you free from piles of unused things in your home. Just like the British author Fergus O'Connell put in his book Simply Brilliant: The Common-sense Guide to Success At Work, sometimes it is our way of thinking that is complex rather than the matter itself. We tend to complicate the problem. There is another way—try to tackle it with simplicity. Similarly, if we can simplify our life, only keeping the most essential parts, we will get away from the annoyance of seeing the clutter at home while benefiting others at the same time. You can make this happen in our program by selling your unused items to others at low price.
At the same time, the “subtraction” you are doing here is meaningful. Every item you donate will be put on the shelf after they are cleaned and classified by our staff. The program offers job opportunities to disabled people. Apart from the salary for staff, all the income from the program will be donated to the Hunan Provincial Foundation for the Disabled.
Sorting out the things you do not need can be a heartwarming act. This act of kindness will provide better living conditions, more convenient facilities, and a much brighter future for underprivileged people.
We are going to start at 10AM, August 10th, 2018 and we anticipate and welcome your participation. If you could bring something you no longer need or come to buy something you need, it would be awesome. In addition, our program welcomes items from both individuals and corporations. If you want to donate but you are not in Changsha, there is no need for you to worry, because you can always send it through the post.
Everyone comes to the world with nothing and leaves with nothing. During this process, it is even an overstatement if you say you lose something. When you give away the things you temporarily own in the world to those who need it more, you will find that you are stronger than before and life becomes more meaningful than before.
